talent." She was born and raised in Honolulu,
Hawaii, where she began her operatic career. She sang in the Hawaii Opera Theater chorus and took part in the University
of Hawaii's opera workshop, learning the part of Gretel in Hansel and Gretel. Annette moved to Oregon where she performed as a soloist with the Linn-Benton
Chorale and Lane Chamber Choir and Orchestra. Her performances
included Handel's Messiah, Brahms' A German Requiem, and Schubert's
Mass in G Major. She also performed numerous roles with both the Portland
and Eugene Operas, including:
- Nicoletta in The Love for Three Oranges
- Fiordiligi in scenes from Cosi fan tutte
- Penashe/First
Spirit in An American Magic Flute
- Pamina in The Magic
Flute
- Angelina in Trial by Jury
- Angel City Four Soprano in City of Angels
Prior to
relocating to North Carolina, Annette lived in the New York area for ten years, where she maintained a teaching studio.
While there she revised her role as Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, was featured as a lead in an original
production, Too Many Sopranos, and performed multiple solos as part of the FTT Performance Series.
